    Friday, August 19 @ 9pm-3am:

    "Havana Nights Salsa Soiree" Kick-off Party
    Hudson Terrace: 621 West 46th Street (Between 11th & 12th Avenues); Manhattan

    An exciting salsa soirée showcasing the work of photographer Chasi Annexy while bringing to life our one-week journey to Cuba in the heart of New York City, held at SALSEEKs monthly hotspot Hudson Terrace, a luxurious rooftop bar and lounge, with LIVE music by La Maquina Amarilla, DJ Alejandro and performances by world renowned dancers Yesenia Selier, Nydia Ocasio and others.
    • Special Guests:
      • Yesenia Selier, acclaimed Afro-Cuban historian, scholar, dancer;
      • Pedro Rodriguez, Director of Danza Chevere (an innovative force in the Havana cultural community);
      • Nydia Ocasio, renowned dancer and choreographer.
    • Enjoy a multimedia exposition of the Marazul Dance & Music Research Trip
    • Mix and mingle with our Special Guests, the 2011 Cuba researchers, and the NYC Salsa Community

    "PROJECT: Cuba" Workshop Series Day 1
    Nola Rehearsal Studios: 250 West 54th Street; Manhattan
    • On Saturday, august 20th, MetaMovements will host a series of workshops designed to bring together a variety of dance styles including New York Salsa, Afro-Cuban and Casino while elevating the level in which we dance.
    • In addition, from 12:30-2:00 pm we will break for an interactive lunch-time presentation where you will learn about prominent dance & music organizations in Havana, Cuba who work to preserve the historical and cultural importance of music and dance while making an impact on the transformation of Cuban communities.

    Saturday, August 20th @ 9:00 pm:

    "PROJECT: Cuba" Dinner Party & Dancing
    Amor Cubano: 2018 3rd Avenue At East 111th Street; Manhattan
    • Following the workshops, SALSEEK will continue the celebrations of this fantastic weekend by hosting an intimate dinner party with LIVE music At Amor Cubano.
    • All are welcome to join us for authentic Cuban family style appetizers and drinks including beer, wine and sangria. "All-You-Can-Eat or Drink" for only $20 from 9-11pm.
    • Afterwards enjoy LIVE music by Danny Rojo and dancing!
    • This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new friends in the ambiance of one of New York City's liveliest Cuban restaurants.

    "PROJECT: Cuba" Workshop Series Day 2
    Nola Rehearsal Studios: 250 West 54th Street; Manhattan
    • During this week of our workshop series, we will delve deeper into the uniquie movements of the Orishas' while exploring the profound influences of the Afro-Cuban culture in the world of Salsa and Modern Dance.
    • We will also show dancers how the study of these historical dances can transform the way we move today.
    • Join Yesenia Selier, Jay Salsa and Anara Frank for intensive workshops, designed especially for dancer of these genres, with separate sections for beginners when needed.

    Wednesday, August 31, from 4:30-9pm:

    "PROJECT: Cuba" Workshop Series Day 3
    Nola Rehearsal Studios: 250 West 54th Street; Manhattan
    • On the final day of our workshop series, one of NYC's sought-after Hip Hop instructors, Ray F. Davis (Hip Hop Conservatory, Alvin Ailey, Steps on Broadway) will join us to further explore the amazing connections between traditional Afro-Cuban movement, NYC-style Salsa and Hip Hop.
    • This evening of movement will culminate all styles of dance that weve studied throughout the dance series including a unique Cha Cha Cha fusion!
